Introducing our new chickens....

Introducing the newest additions to our family, our 5 new chickens. It seems strange to only see 5 chicks wandering the pen but we only wanted a few as we are not sure when we are moving yet. I also added some pictures of the chicken coop for those who haven't seen it yet.

Introducing the young girls, MacNicol (the light one - Mrs MacNicol, I hope you don't mind that Harry named a chicken after you!!!!), Chalkey (front) and Aim (back)
The boys named these chickens!!!

Kevin's chicken (the black one) is Casey and mine, Patsy!!

The hen house built under the back corner of our deck

The laying boxes

The roost and feeder

I decided to do some baking today. I made Fresh Apple Cookies from my favourite Best of Bridge The Best of The Best cookbook. Although they don't look the greatest, they are really yummy. I also made a loaf of bread. I do love the smell of bread cooking in the oven.

Congratulations on your chickens! Ours certainly make life more interesting around here ;-)

I love the smell of fresh baked bread too... sometimes I think the smell even more than the taste!

I'm so honoured to have one of the new chickens named after me. They look like lovely chooks - may they lay you many nice fresh eggs.
